Job description

Large and established commercial construction contractor serving the Greater Houston area seeks an experienced HVAC Project Manager for end-to-end execution of multiple concurrent, multi-million dollar commercial HVAC projects. This role requires the ability to manage the project lifecycle from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring all deliverables are met on time, within the established budget, and within the defined scope of work.

Key Responsibilities

Project Lifecycle Management: Oversee all aspects of assigned projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and milestone tracking to ensure project delivery meets contractual obligations. Technical Documentation: Manage the submittal process, draft and track Requests for Information (RFIs), and ensure technical documentation aligns Financial Oversight: Maintain control over project budgets.

This includes accurate estimating for change orders, monitoring labor productivity, and managing material procurement to mitigate cost overruns. Field Operations & Troubleshooting: Conduct site visits as needed to monitor labor performance, troubleshoot mechanical installation issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Stakeholder Communication: Represent the company at job meetings with owners, general contractors, and subcontractors to provide progress updates and resolve project conflicts. Multi-Project Coordination: Successfully manage a portfolio of multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to ensure consistent progress across all job sites Requirements At least 6 years of experience within commercial HVAC Project Management (commercial construction focused within HVAC and/or mechanical piping (industrial piping experience is not considered applicable for this role - must have commercial HVAC experience.)

Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, schematics, and specifications. Strong understanding of financial management and analyzing costs. Ability to negotiate change orders and manage vendor relationships effectively. Solid communication skills with the ability to work-well as a team member & with stakeholders. Ability to effectively discuss past managed projects that were complex and/or large in scale as well as any challenges overcome, budget considerations, and achievements (pertaining to HVAC & mechanical scope within commercial or heavy commercial construction.)

Some experience with commonly used software/application within the trades (whether that be for Project Management, Designs, Coordination, Estimation, etc. - examples are Procore & Bluebeam, but others may be considered.)
