Construction Contracts Administrator
Job description
Blythe Development is a 100% employee-owned, licensed general contractor headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded in 1989 by twin brothers and Charlotte natives Jack and Frank Blythe, we perform sitework, road construction, and golf course construction across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. With more than 900 employees, we self-perform 80% of our sitework, including clearing, grading, utilities, drainage, concrete, bridge, stone base, and asphalt paving work. Blythe Brothers Asphalt Company provides asphalt services for Blythe Development Co.
About the Role
The Construction Contracts Administrator supports the Purchasing Manager by preparing, reviewing, issuing, and maintaining construction contracts and related documents for local, state, privately funded, and federal-aid projects throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. This role helps identify contractual risk, maintain regulatory and flow-down compliance, and keep contract records accurate, current, and audit-ready.
Key Responsibilities

Draft, review, issue, and maintain subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders

Redline contract documents in Adobe Acrobat and route agreements for execution through DocuSign

Review owner contracts and flag risks for the Purchasing Manager, including indemnity, pay-if-paid and pay-when-paid provisions, retainage, liquidated damages, insurance, and flow-down requirements

Maintain current NCDOT, SCDOT, and federal-aid flow-down requirements in subcontracts

Support compliance with North Carolina and South Carolina lien laws, including notices, lien agent filings, and payment-related lien waivers

Enter and maintain subcontracts and purchase orders in ProjectSight

Keep contract files organized, current, and audit-ready

Coordinate with internal teams and external parties to resolve contract documentation and compliance issues
Qualifications

Fundamental knowledge of construction techniques, materials, standards, and equipment

Familiarity with NCDOT and SCDOT requirements and construction contract compliance

Proficiency with ProjectSight, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, and common office applications

Strong organization, time-management, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred: North Carolina Notary commission
