Learn to Swim Officer

About the role

In this role, you will support the day-to-day coordination of the Learn to Swim program, assisting teachers, organising class allocations and ensuring a safe, positive experience for children and families participating in aquatic education. Work type: Casual Classification: Band 4 Commencing at $48.08 p/h (including casual loading) plus super Key responsibilities include: Support the Learn to Swim Coordinator in delivering a high-quality, safe and engaging Learn to Swim program.

Provide guidance and support to Learn to Swim teachers to ensure consistent program delivery and positive participant experiences. Allocate and program children into appropriate classes and instructors based on skill level and program requirements. Assist with the rostering and coordination of Learn to Swim staff to ensure effective program coverage.

Monitor and support teacher performance in collaboration with the Learn to Swim Coordinator. Assist with administrative and operational tasks including squad groups, pool bookings and other program activities.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong understanding of Learn to Swim programs and a passion for delivering safe, engaging aquatic education. You will bring excellent communication and customer service skills, the ability to support and guide teaching staff, and the flexibility to work across a range of shifts.

Essential Experience: Swim Teaching Certificate (relevant swim teacher extension qualifications desired) Provide First Aid including CPR. Working with Children Check. Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
