Senior Data & AI Architect Manager
Job description
Tasks Own and evolve the enterprise data architecture – source systems, integration patterns, data warehouse layers, and the consumption layer – and keep the target architecture and roadmap documented and up to date. Design, build, and maintain trusted conceptual, logical, and physical data models across ERP, MES, CRM, finance, supply chain, and operational systems, including master data and shared business definitions.
Define and enforce architectural standards for integration, data modelling, naming, security, and platform use, and review solutions delivered by internal teams, consultants, and external partners against them. Set the direction for data governance, data quality, lineage, and access management, so that data across the business is documented, trusted, and compliant.
Design the architecture behind practical AI initiatives – LLMs, AI agents, RAG architectures, automation, and prompt engineering – including the data products, semantic and vector layers, and integration patterns they depend on. Translate business needs into prioritized data, analytics, and AI roadmap, and into scalable solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.
Work hands-on in the platform with modelling, pipelines, performance, cost, and troubleshooting across the full consolidation landscape. Act as technical lead for the data team – setting technical priorities, reviewing work, mentoring engineers and analysts, and supporting people in achieving ambitious goals. Work closely with business stakeholders, developers, data engineers, consultants, and external delivery teams.
Challenge inefficient ways of working and identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve business processes. Skills Proven experience as a data architect, or in a comparable senior technical role, with end-to-end responsibility for architecture in a complex system landscape. Strong data modelling skills across dimensional, normalised, and layered (e.
g. medallion or data vault) approaches, and the judgement to know when to apply which. Strong understanding of data flows in a manufacturing business and how operational, financial, commercial, and management information connects. Experience consolidating data from multiple systems and business functions into a consistent foundation for analytics, reporting, process optimisation, and AI-driven solutions.
Hands-on expertise in modern data platforms, preferably Microsoft Fabric, with the ability to contribute directly to architecture, data engineering, analytics, troubleshooting, and implementation. Experience with integration architecture and patterns – APIs, event and streaming, and batch ETL/ELT – across ERP, MES, and other operational systems.
Practical experience with data governance, data quality, master data, lineage, and security and access models. Good understanding of modern AI technologies, including LLMs, AI agents, RAG architectures, automation, and prompt engineering, and of what these require from the underlying data architecture. Ability to set technical direction and roadmaps, and to document and communicate architecture so that both technical and business audiences can act on it.
Practical ability to distinguish genuine business opportunities from technology hype and focus on measurable business outcomes. At least 5 years of experience in a senior data, architecture, or analytics role, including technical leadership of teams and steering of external delivery partners. Strong ownership, delivery focus, and ability to follow initiatives through to completion in changing environments.
Excellent stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organisation and with external delivery partners. Strong communication skills in English. Powers of the Position and success criteria You own the architectural decisions for Faerch's data platform – data models, integration patterns, and platform standards – with the mandate to set and enforce them across internal teams and external delivery partners.
Within your first 6–12 months, you will have established yourself as a trusted data and AI architect, with a documented target architecture and clarity around Faerch's data foundation, priority use cases, and delivery roadmap. You will have consolidated key data sources into governed, well-modelled data products, improved confidence in reporting and analytics, and moved selected AI initiatives from idea to implementation and business adoption.
Your work will support better decisions, more efficient processes, and a stronger digital foundation for Faerch's continued development.
