Senior PowerBI developer Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, Paginated reports, and dashboards based on business requirements.
• Gather, analyze, and translate business needs into technical specifications and data models.
• Build efficient data models in Power BI (star/snowflake schemas, relationships, calculated columns, and measures using DAX).
• Use Power Query to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources (SQL databases, Excel, cloud sources).
• Optimize report performance (query folding, aggregations, incremental refresh, measures optimization).
• Implement and manage row‑level security (RLS) and follow governance standards for data access and security.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy through validation, testing, and documentation.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business users to align BI solutions with business goals.
• Publish and manage content in Power BI Service, including workspaces, apps, dataflows, and refresh schedules.
• Provide user training, support, and best‑practice guidance to self‑service Power BI users.
• Stay current with new Power BI features and recommend improvements to existing BI solutions.
• Create flows/schedules in Power Automate and create interface through Power Apps to publish reports.

Required Skills

and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Hands‑on experience 6+ years building reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI.
• Strong proficiency in DAX for building calculated measures and advanced calculations.
• Solid experience with Power Query/M and data transformation techniques.
• Good understanding of relational databases, SQL querying, and data modeling concepts (facts, dimensions, star schema).
• Experience connecting to and integrating multiple data sources (on‑premises and cloud).
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work closely with business stakeholders, gather requirements, and convert them into technical designs.
