Job description

The Sales Manager is responsible for planning, leading, and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share for the company's FMCG products. The role oversees sales operations, manages distributor relationships, supervises the sales team, and ensures effective product distribution across retail and wholesale channels.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Sales Strategy & Planning Develop and implement sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Identify new business opportunities and expand the company’s distribution network. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer demand to adjust strategies.
  2. Team Management Lead, coach, and supervise sales representatives, merchandisers, and field sales staff. Set sales targets and KPIs for the team. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training to improve sales skills.
  3. Distributor & Retail Management Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key retailers. Ensure proper product availability and stock levels in all assigned territories. Negotiate trade agreements, promotions, and pricing with partners.
  4. Sales Operations Monitor daily sales activities and ensure achievement of targets. Manage sales forecasting and demand planning. Coordinate with logistics and supply chain to ensure timely delivery.
  5. Market Expansion Identify and develop new territories and sales channels. Introduce new products to the market and ensure successful launches. Increase product visibility and merchandising in retail outlets.
  6. Reporting & Analysis Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis. Track sales KPIs such as volume growth, distribution coverage, and market share. Provide recommendations to senior management based on data insights.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. 5–8 years of sales experience in FMCG or consumer goods industry. At least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Strong knowledge of retail distribution, trade marketing, and channel management. Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
