Custodian Day Lead in Northville Public Schools

Custodian Day Lead Location: Northville Public Schools, Northville, MI 48167 Position Overview GRBS, Inc is seeking a reliable and hardworking Custodian Day Lead to join our team at a large high school facility in Northville Public Schools. This fast-paced and physically demanding role requires a motivated individual who can lead a team of two day custodians, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Scheduled hours Monday- Friday 5:00am-1:30pm (4am start if there is snow fall in order to complete snow removal) Pay $18 per hour Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the daily activities of two day custodian team members. Perform general custodial duties including cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of the school building.

Provide busy lunch coverage to maintain cleanliness and order during peak times. Operate snow removal equipment, including driving a snow tractor, to ensure safe and accessible walkways and entrances during winter months. Collaborate and communicate effectively with teachers, students, administrative staff, and the building principal.

Maintain a safe and healthy environment by following established procedures and protocols. Respond promptly to custodial needs and emergencies as they arise throughout the school day.

Qualifications

& Skills Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment. Experience with snow removal and operating snow tractors preferred. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a small team. Reliable, hardworking, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent interpersonal skills for positive interactions with students, teachers, staff, and administration.

Ability to maintain professionalism and discretion in a school setting. Work Environment This position is based at a large high school in Northville, MI. The role involves physical labor, including lifting, walking, and operating machinery. The Custodian Day Lead will work primarily during daytime hours and must be prepared to handle busy periods such as lunch coverage and snow removal during winter.
