Assembly Fitter

Summary: Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the 4410 Assembly Fitter assembles cores and molds to produce quality castings. Work Experience Needed: One to three years of verifiable work history. Foundry experience is preferred. Knowledge/Special Skills/Abilities Needed: Ability to operate within a team atmosphere.

Ability to effectively communicate with other employees of the organization. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Active listening skill-Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Nature & Scope-Principal Areas of Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management deem necessary from time to time. Inspects cores and molds for quality and reports any problems. Cleans, washes, prepares cores and mold halves for assembly.

Responsible for blowing out mold after assembly final inspection. Responsible for closing mold. Identifies mold with part number, date code, and shift number. Maintains proper baumes on core and mold wash. Cleans work area at the end of the shift. Responsible for putting away tools and equipment. Reports any problems with tools and equipment.

Reports to supervisor when supplies are low in a timely manner. Maintain a safe and clean working environment and follow all safety policies and procedures.
