ABOUT THE ROLE

The Parts Advisor will promote sales of parts and accessories to internal, retail, and wholesale customers while maintaining customer satisfaction.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Provide excellent customer service in accordance with Metro Toyota standards, policies, and procedures Have a working knowledge of vehicle parts and diagnostics for problem solving Promptly quote parts on repair orders at the pricing determined by management Timely fill parts orders as needed Seek alternative parts fulfillment sources when lack of OEM inventory creates delays Speak clearly on the telephone and convey an image of professionalism and competence to callers Handle telephone orders efficiently, including preparation of necessary paperwork thoroughly and accurately Maintain a working knowledge of the electronic parts catalogue.

Complete training modules for potential advancement Ability to identify, comprehend, and act on changing customer requirements Perform extensive numerical calculations with a high degree of accuracy Handle payment for parts, operate cash register and credit card reader Assist with special orders, including completing necessary paperwork Log lost sales in DMS Maintain good housekeeping habits throughout the department Ability to retrieve, load and deliver items of various sizes and weights (up to 125 lbs.)

in operable and undamaged condition Maintain a problem-solving attitude Participating in annual inventory count Assist other team mates as needed with tasks such as receiving parts in shipping area, stocking parts, keeping inventory updated Relating positively with diverse groups of people (customers and staff) Comply with all Metro Toyota policies and procedures Comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect service and parts operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.

All other duties as assigned POSITION REQUIREMENTS Excellent oral and written communication skills High school diploma or equivalent A valid Michigan driver’s license with an insurable driving record Ability to read, speak and write English in order fulfill job functions in an understandable way. Mathematic skills are a plus Ability to operate a computer and telephone system SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and stretch Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds Ability to work in conditions such as: varying temperatures, noise, and fumes.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
