Job Summary

The purpose of this job is to handle public inquiries; review & evaluate incoming transfer credit, advise on degree completion, and support enrollment of returning and transferring students. Essential Job Functions, Duties, & Responsibilities: Assist the public with inquiries including face-to-face, answering telephone, and email.

Maintain file system Updating and maintaining student files. Data entry Evaluate transfer credit or manage evaluation process with subject matter experts in relevant academic departments. Support the BLS Coordinator and the BLS program. Maintain information pertaining to external credit on college website. Helping with student requests (major changes, schedule changes, address updates, etc) Sending student correspondence (letters and emails).

Operate a variety of modern office equipment in performing routine tasks such as facsimile machines, copy machines, calculators, computer terminals, and phone systems. Deliver and pick up mail. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

1+ year experience working in a higher education setting Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university and experience in higher education desired. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: May require availability for overtime hours during peak periods. Overtime work may be required on occasions. Travel on occasion may be required as it relates to position’s responsibilities.

Must be able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Understanding of higher education policies and degree requirements. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment.

Strong attention to detail; ability to perform duties with a high level of accuracy. High degree of organization, ability to engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously, and consistently meet deadlines. Ability to work with and maintain confidential university information. Physical Demands Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
