Lead Teacher (Pre-K)

The Pre-K Lead Teacher is responsible for the social-emotional and academic growth of preschool-aged children, using creative methods such as music, hands-on learning, and art to provide a safe and nurturing environment aligned with the CentroNía model and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and create a dynamic classroom environment with engaging learning centers, developmentally appropriate materials, and displays of children's work.
• Build relationships with each child and intentionally stimulate language development and learning through age-appropriate activities.
• Observe, document, and assess children's progress while gathering parental input to guide developmental planning.
• Develop annual, weekly, and daily lesson plans aligned with Early Learning Standards, children's interests, and appropriate field trips.
• Maintain frequent family communication, prepare bilingual newsletters, host monthly family nights, and conduct two Parent-Teacher Conferences per year.
• Monitor health, safety, and emotional welfare, provide active adult supervision during all activities, meals, and rest periods, and keep the environment clean and hazard-free.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, early childhood special education, or child and family studies (or a BA in another field with 18 ECE credits or passing the Early Childhood Praxis exam). - 2 or more years of experience in the care and education of young children in a group setting.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is highly preferred. English fluency is required.
