Barista

The Sundial Beach Resort & Spa, located on sunny Sanibel Island, is seeking a Barista/Cashier to join our team!

Job Summary

To greet guests as they arrive and set the tone for their experience when entering our Marketplace. They should be greeted with a warm and friendly demeanor. Barista should be knowledgeable of resort operations and suggest coffee, sandwiches and other items when speaking with guests.

Essential Functions

Make sure all drink recipes and procedures are followed, maintaining the highest quality and consistent product standards maintains a guest focus while performing duties Prepare all food offerings to the highest standards and adhere to all recipes and guidelines Provide guests information on our products and services, by developing an understanding of our various types of coffee, food, beverage and retail.

Ensures and is accountable for profitability of the department by growing sales and controlling costs of goods, inventory levels, labor, supplies and expenses. Able to perform all POS duties, front and back of house functions including opening and closing procedures Helps maintain a clean well-merchandised department, following visual presentation plans and standards.

Communicates all sales promotions and new product information effectively and efficiently. Ensure a balance of the register at the end of the shift or working period Ensure safe food handling procedures are being followed. Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant and resort functions and services Perform side work during each shift as required by service station assignment Maintain clean and stocked Marketplace for guests use.

Responsibilities

also include filing orders, receiving money, and carrying out suggestive selling while managing all cash issued and received during the shift. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests Follows all resort policies and state laws in serving alcohol beverages.
