• A minimum of two years of patrol experience is also required. Department: Constable Pct. 2 Job Title : Deputy Hourly Salary: $34.10 - $44.70 Shift Hours: Varies Description: The Deputy Constable will actively enforce laws, maintain order, protect life and property, investigate criminal activity, and educate the community on matters of public safety.

Responsibilities

Perform all duties of a Certified Peace Officer. Conduct accurate investigations. Service of Civil Process Respond to calls for service Execution of criminal and traffic warrants, if assigned. Work any shift as directed or as needed. Educate the community on public safety issues related to both criminal and civil matters. Other job related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Must hold current/active Texas (TCOLE) Peace Officer's License Must currently be at least 21 years of age. Must possess high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must be able to successfully complete the MCCO Pct. 2 FTO program. Must be a U.S. Citizen and resident of the contiguous United States for a period of time sufficient to conduct a background investigation.

Must possess a current valid Texas Drivers' License and proof of liability insurance with no more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years. Must have favorable employment history. All information given regarding past employment will be thoroughly checked. Must pass all phases of testing, background checks, and oral interview process, including the departments firearm qualification course.

Must not be on any disciplinary probation. Must not have a sustained complaint or untruthfulness. No conviction above a Class B Misdemeanor or a Class B Misdemeanor within the last 10 years nor have been on, or currently on, court-ordered community supervision or probation of any criminal defense. No conviction of family violence.

Ability to physically perform tasks including, but not limited to, standing, kneeling, bending, running, and walking for long periods of time. Must be physically able to restrain arrestee's if necessary. Must possess good verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate a professional appearance, be punctual and dependable.

Preferred Qualifications

Spillman CAD System Experience Civil Process experience After receiving a conditional offer of employment, applicant must pass a drug screen (1/2 cost = $20.00, responsibility of applicant) and may need a physical agility test (1/2 cost = $22.50, responsibility of applicant) before becoming an employee of Montgomery County.
