Job description

CTG is seeking to fill a RIE Semiconductor Lab Technician position for our client. Join a leading semiconductor manufacturing team supporting advanced Reactive Ion Etching (RIE) processes and cleanroom operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with semiconductor fabrication experience who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, supporting process development, and ensuring the highest quality manufacturing standards.

Location: Albany, NY Duration: long term Hours: 7PM-7AM Duties: Operate, monitor, and maintain RIE and other semiconductor fabrication equipment. Support semiconductor process development, testing, and manufacturing activities. Perform equipment setup, calibration, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting. Execute process experiments and collect, analyze, and document process data.

Assist with process qualification, product validation, and manufacturing readiness activities. Support failure analysis (FA) investigations and implement corrective actions. Manage nonconforming materials (NCM) and support inventory control activities. Participate in quality audits, CAPA initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.

Assist with stop-ship investigations and off-specification product evaluations. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve process and equipment issues. Maintain accurate documentation while following cleanroom, safety, and quality procedures. Skills: Experience with semiconductor fabrication and cleanroom manufacturing.

Knowledge of Reactive Ion Etching (RIE) equipment and semiconductor processing. Understanding of quality systems, CAPA, failure analysis, and process qualification. Familiarity with manufacturing quality support, NCM processes, and inventory management. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read engineering documentation and follow detailed operating procedures.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical documentation tools. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience: Two or more years of semiconductor manufacturing, semiconductor laboratory, or related engineering experience preferred.

Experience operating semiconductor process equipment in a cleanroom environment. Background supporting process development, manufacturing quality, or equipment troubleshooting. Experience with semiconductor qualification, failure analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives is highly desirable.

Education

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Semiconductor Technology, Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant semiconductor manufacturing experience will also be considered. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
