Job description
A global healthcare company is seeking an HR leader in Japan to shape and drive its people strategy during a period of planned expansion. This is a small to medium sized company looking to scale operations in the near future as a part of their mid to long strategy. This role will partner closely with leadership to strengthen the HR function, enhance organizational structure, and support business growth.
While some HR processes exist through external vendors, there is an opportunity to further develop and formalize key areas such as hiring, onboarding, and talent management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and evolve the HR function, including policies, processes, and systems Partner with senior leadership on organizational design and workforce planning Drive hiring strategy and execution to support headcount growth Establish and improve onboarding, performance management, and development frameworks Provide guidance on employee relations, culture, and engagement Act as a bridge between business leadership and employees Manage and optimize relationships with external HR vendors (payroll, labor, etc.)
Requirements Required Experience HR leadership experience in growing or evolving organizations Strong background in HR strategy, organizational design, and talent acquisition Ability to operate effectively in environments with evolving structure and direction Hands-on approach with the ability to balance strategy and execution Native-level Japanese; business-level English preferred Preferred Experience (not a must) Hands on HR experience Exposure to international organizations Experience supporting periods of rapid growth or organizational change Profile Proactive and self-driven, with a strong sense of ownership Comfortable navigating ambiguity and influencing decision-making Able to partner closely with leadership and contribute at a strategic level Interested in building and strengthening HR foundations over time Benefits Why This Role Opportunity to shape HR in a growing global organization High-impact role with direct exposure to senior leadership Blend of strategic input and hands-on execution during a key growth phase
