Sous Chef | 5-Star Luxury Safari Lodge | Hoedspruit, Mpumalanga Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join a prestigious 5-star luxury safari lodge in Hoedspruit. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional who can support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef with the daily management of kitchen operations. Oversee food preparation, cooking and presentation to ensure consistently high standards. Supervise, train and motivate the kitchen team. Ensure menus and dishes meet the expectations of a luxury safari lodge. Maintain strict food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.

Monitor stock control, food costs, ordering and waste management. Ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely meal service. Contribute to menu planning, creativity and seasonal menu development.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen role. Experience in a 5-star hotel, luxury lodge or high-end hospitality environment is essential. Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food trends and presentation. Excellent leadership, communication and organisational abilities. Good understanding of stock control, food costing and kitchen management.

Ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional standards. A hands-on approach and passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
