OB/GYN Locum Tenens Opportunities – New Mexico JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Physician – OB/GYN Job Type: Locum Tenens Locations: Socorro, NM & Ruidoso, NM Service Setting: Hospital / Clinic Coverage Type: Clinical + Call (Socorro) and Call Only (Ruidoso) Coverage Period: August 2026 – Ongoing Schedule Socorro Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM clinic Weeknight call: 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM Weekend call: Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 8:00 AM Beeper call Ruidoso 24-hour beeper call only 8:00 AM – 8:00 AM 20-minute response time Weekday callback approximately 10%; weekend callback approximately 20% COVERAGE DATES Socorro August 5 – August 7, 2026 August 20 – August 23, 2026 August 25 – August 28, 2026 Ongoing opportunities available Ruidoso September 16 – September 21, 2026 September 25 – September 28, 2026 Additional ongoing coverage for provider PTO PATIENT INFORMATION Obstetric and Gynecologic patients Low- and high-risk obstetrics Routine gynecology and surgical gynecology Labor & Delivery coverage Emergency OB and GYN consultations Socorro Less than 15 clinic patients per day Approximately 8–10 deliveries per month Ruidoso Approximately 4 deliveries per physician per week Approximately 2 gynecologic surgeries per week Admissions, rounding, and phone consults included FACILITY INFORMATION Socorro Hospital and outpatient clinic Epic EMR Support includes 2 OB/GYN physicians, RN, MA, and C-section assist Ruidoso Hospital-based practice Level I Well Baby Nursery Two permanent OB/GYN physicians Onsite laboratory services REQUIRED PROCEDURES Low- and high-risk pregnancy management Vaginal deliveries Cesarean sections VBACs Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations Fetal heart rate interpretation (NST, CST, FSE) Level I & II OB ultrasound interpretation (preferred) Gynecologic surgery including: D&C Hysterectomy Laparoscopic procedures Tubal ligation Ectopic pregnancy surgery Oophorectomy Ovarian surgery Cystectomy Adhesiolysis Bowel injury repair Appendectomy Infertility procedures Incontinence procedures Major operative gynecologic surgery JOB REQUIREMENTS Active New Mexico license or ability to obtain Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN (ABOG eligible if applicable) Active DEA BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications Minimum one year of experience Current case logs meeting hospital privileging requirements OB/GYN residency trained Ability to obtain hospital privileges Must satisfy immunization and drug screening requirements Case Log Requirements (Socorro) 50 vaginal deliveries within the past 12 months 20 Cesarean sections within the past 12 months 25 gynecologic surgical procedures, including at least 5 major abdominal cases DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide outpatient OB/GYN clinic services (Socorro) Provide weekday, weekend, and 24-hour call coverage Manage routine and high-risk obstetric patients Perform vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, VBACs, and gynecologic surgery Evaluate obstetric and gynecologic emergencies Respond to beeper call within required response times Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, Maternal/Infant services, and hospital personnel to provide high-quality patient care PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital privileges required Temporary privileges may be available for clean files (Ruidoso) Credentialing approximately 90 days Drug screen within 14 days of start Immunization requirements apply COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel covered Lodging covered Malpractice insurance provided Ongoing locum opportunities available at both locations
