Job Summary

CT Mechanical is hiring an experienced Commercial Plumbing Superintendent to lead field execution on large and mid-size projects in the Orlando market. Central Florida’s construction pipeline includes healthcare, hospitality, education, multifamily, and institutional work. You’ll own safety, quality, productivity, and schedule on your jobs.

You’ll also run field crews and coordinate vendors, GCs, and trade partners. You’ll be based in Orlando and work local jobsites, so this is not a travel role.

Quality: Own plumbing QA/QC, including Florida Building Code – Plumbing compliance, installation standards, and inspection readiness with local AHJs. Production and manpower: Build look-aheads, set crew goals, track percent-complete, and adjust manpower to hit milestones and margin.

Layout and coordination: Oversee sleeve, hanger, and support layout. Coordinate with the GC, structural, and MEP trades, and resolve clashes in the field. Documentation: Keep daily reports, timesheets, photos, as-builts, and redlines accurate. Generate RFIs for conflicts and clarifications. Material and prefab: Validate takeoffs, sequence deliveries, manage laydown and storage, and coordinate prefab and just-in-time kitting.

Testing and commissioning: Plan and execute pressure tests, chlorination/flushing, camera inspections, and turnover documentation with the PM and GC. Shutdowns and tie-ins: Plan shutdowns in occupied facilities, including hospitals, schools, and operating businesses, along with notifications and method statements. Lead safe tie-ins and cutovers.

Communication: Run foreman and crew huddles, represent plumbing scope in OAC and coordination meetings, and keep stakeholders informed. Leadership: Coach foremen and apprentices on safety, quality, and productivity, and build an accountable jobsite culture. Scheduling: Contribute to 3-week look-aheads, constraint logs, and pull-plan sessions, and hold crews to dates and sequence.

Equipment oversight: Verify proper use, inspections, and certifications for lifts, rigging, and test equipment.

Requirements

10+ years of commercial plumbing experience, including 3+ years supervising foremen and crews. Expert knowledge of commercial plumbing systems: DWV, domestic hot/cold, storm, condensate, gas, and specialty. Ability to read plans, specs, plumbing details, and coordination drawings. BIM/VDC experience is a plus. Proven record of safe, high-quality installs delivered on schedule.

Proficiency with MS Office. Procore and Bluebeam preferred, MS Project/Primavera a plus. OSHA 30, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record. Central Florida commercial experience and familiarity with local inspectors and jurisdictions strongly preferred. Preferred Journeyman or Master Plumber license. ASSE 6010 Med Gas certification.

This is strongly preferred given the volume of healthcare work in the Orlando market. ASSE Backflow Tester certification. Hydronic piping and equipment-setting experience. Our Culture Our core values: Do what you say. Do what it takes. Walk with purpose. Do the right thing. We’re collaborative and growth-oriented, and we focus on craftsmanship, safety, and client trust.
