Job description
About Us
CT Mechanical has delivered plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical contracting services since 2014. We’re a family-rooted company with offices in Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, and Gainesville. Our Orlando team serves commercial and residential clients across the Central Florida market, one of the fastest-growing construction regions in the country.
Job Summary
We’re hiring an experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic for our Orlando office. You’ll install duct systems and sheet metal products on commercial job sites across the Orlando metro area. The work is steady, the projects are local, and you won’t be sent across the state to keep busy. This role is for someone who can read a set of drawings, run duct clean and on schedule, and work safely in Central Florida conditions.
Responsibilities
Read blueprints and determine system layout to plan installations. Run square and spiral duct from layouts, keeping alignment and fit precise. Set hangers for metal strapping duct and set curbs to spec. Install VAV boxes and handle light fabrication as needed. Measure, mark, and cut sheet metal to template using power and hand tools.
Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal. Grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces to a clean finish. Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair ductwork, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings. Inspect your work for quality and conformity to specifications. Follow all job site safety protocols, including heat safety during Florida summers.
Requirements
3+ years of sheet metal and duct board experience on commercial or industrial job sites. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites throughout the Orlando area. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work full shifts in Central Florida heat and humidity.
High school diploma or GED. OSHA 10 preferred. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or with a crew. Our Culture: Our core values guide how we work: “Do what you say, Do what it takes, Walk with purpose, Do the right thing.” We believe in holding ourselves to a high standard, supporting each other in the field, and giving people room to grow.
Mechanics who show up and do quality work have a path forward here.
