Experienced Mixologist

Job/company introduction and main responsibilities Bosse Events is a professional event management and staffing agency based in Durban North. We provide experienced hospitality professionals for corporate events, luxury private functions, brand activations, premium bars, VIP lounges and large-scale events across KwaZulu-Natal.

We are recruiting highly experienced mixologists to join our specialist hospitality staffing team. This position is suited to skilled cocktail professionals who have extensive practical experience preparing classic and contemporary cocktails and delivering premium beverage experiences. We are looking for confident, creative and professional individuals who understand cocktail preparation, presentation, speed of service and guest engagement.

Main responsibilities: Prepare classic and contemporary cocktails to professional standards. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of spirits, liqueurs, mixers and cocktail ingredients. Create and present visually appealing cocktails. Prepare garnishes, syrups, infusions and cocktail ingredients. Work efficiently at busy cocktail stations and event bars.

Interact professionally with guests and explain cocktail ingredients. Assist with cocktail menu preparation and recommendations where required. Set up cocktail stations, equipment, glassware and ingredients. Maintain stock control and minimise beverage wastage. Follow responsible alcohol service practices. Maintain excellent hygiene and presentation standards.

Work alongside event bartenders, bar supervisors and onsite managers.

Requirements

Minimum requirements Minimum 1 year of proven experience as a mixologist or specialist cocktail bartender. Previous experience in premium cocktail bars, hotels, restaurants or luxury hospitality venues. Excellent knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails. Strong understanding of spirits, flavour combinations and cocktail preparation techniques.

Confident using professional cocktail equipment. Experience with cocktail garnishing, presentation and preparation. Ability to produce consistent cocktails during high-volume service. Strong guest interaction and communication skills. Experience handling POS systems and customer payments. GAAP POS experience advantageous.

Professional appearance and excellent personal grooming. Reliable transport to and from venues. Availability for evenings, weekends and event assignments. Contactable references from previous hospitality employers.
