Job description

POSITION: Special Education Paraeducator Full-Time: 35 hours per week Putnam Elementary School is looking for a caring, flexible, and dependable Special Education Paraeducator to join our team, specifically supporting students within a specialized program. This full-time role is crucial in empowering elementary students with diverse and often intensive learning needs, helping them navigate their academic, social, and emotional growth in a structured and supportive environment.

Our district facilitates robust district-wide alignment and support across all three schools, ensuring each student's educational experience comprehensively prepares them for the real world.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Support elementary students with diverse learning needs, providing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional assistance. Work collaboratively with teachers and specialists to implement instructional and behavioral plans. Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Provide individual and small group support to students as directed by certified staff. Adapt to evolving student needs and assist with classroom activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED equivalent Successful completion of the Para. Pro Assessment OR at least 60 college credits from an accredited institution. Experience working in a school system is preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, showing patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Ability to follow directions from certified staff, maintain a high degree of professionalism, and ensure confidentiality at all times.
