Staff Accountant

CORPORATE STAFF ACCOUNTANT Job Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant for our residential property management organization. Our Staff Accountant supports the company’s finance/accounting department by recording transactions, maintaining financial records, and assisting with routine accounting tasks.

Pay range

is $75,000 to $82,0000 based on knowledge and experience, plus annual bonus potential.

Key Responsibilities

Record and process invoices, payments, receipts, and other financial transactions. Assist in maintaining accurate accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) records: including invoice reviews, obtaining approvals, coding expenses and processing payments for AP and reviewing tenant ledgers, posting tenant payments, deposits and other receipts for AR.

Enter accounting data into accounting software or spreadsheets. Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts, and maintain the general ledger. Verify invoices and expense reports for accuracy. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. Maintain organized financial documents and filing systems. Follow up on outstanding customer payments when required.

Assist accountants with reports, audits, journal entries and other accounting tasks. Ensure transactions comply with company policies and accounting procedures. Working knowledge of Excel and accounting software. Research and resolve discrepancies with invoices, payments, account balances, and other transactions. Ability to manage deadlines and priorities.

Qualifications

Minimum of an associate's degree in accounting, finance, or business. Experience in real estate accounting is preferred. Basic bookkeeping/accounting knowledge. Proficiency with standard Microsoft Excel functions. Have knowledge of property accounting software such as Yardi. Close attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

Good organizational, analytical, logical, and communication skills. This position is part of a team and requires communication with operations staff, vendors, tenants and company leadership.
