Torch Cutter / Ferrous Torch Operator

Job Description: We are a staffing company placing an individual for a Torch Cutter / Ferrous Torch Operator position with one of our valued clients. The main responsibility of this role will be to operate an oxygen/propane cutting torch in the ferrous scrap yard . The individual will safely torch unprepared scrap metal to meet required specifications, remove contaminants from materials, and help maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an oxygen/propane cutting torch to cut and process scrap metal materials
• Cut large ferrous materials down to size according to yard specifications
• Remove contaminants from scrap metal before and after torching
• Follow strict safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times
• Extinguish materials at the end of the shift or before leaving the work area
• Properly store and maintain torching equipment
• Assist with general yard duties when torching is not possible due to weather or workload
• Perform routine inspections of tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations Preferred Experience:
• Torch cutting experience (oxygen/propane torch)
• Experience working in a scrap yard, recycling facility, construction site, welding shop, or metal processing environment
• Experience using cutting tools, grinders, or similar equipment Requirements:
• Ability to work outdoors in a recycling yard environment
• Ability to lift, move, and handle heavy scrap metal materials
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Reliable transportation and good attendance
• Ability to work in a physically demanding job Compensation: Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour Full-time Monday
• Friday 1st shift Key Responsibilities:
