Overview
Field-based medical role responsible for driving scientific exchange and supporting clinical and medical initiatives across a defined therapeutic area. Acts as a subject matter expert on disease, products, and competitive landscape while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Engage with investigators, thought leaders, and healthcare professionals to exchange scientific insights Build and maintain strong external expert networks within the therapeutic area Provide accurate, compliant responses to medical inquiries (including off-label) Support clinical trials (ISS/CSS), including site identification, initiation, and engagement Represent Medical Affairs at scientific meetings and educational events Generate and communicate actionable medical insights to inform strategy Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical, Clinical, and Commercial teams Contribute to medical strategy, launch planning, and special projects Support patient programs and ensure effective execution and governance Ensure full compliance with internal SOPs, GCP/ICH, and regulatory requirements Profile Advanced degree (PhD/MD/PharmD preferred) Strong scientific expertise and stakeholder engagement skills Experience in Medical Affairs or field medical roles preferred Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrix environment Requirements Knowledge & Experience Advanced degree in life sciences (MSc/PhD/MD/PharmD preferred) ~5+ years in Medical Affairs or related function with solid track record Experience engaging thought leaders and delivering scientific presentations Strong understanding of clinical research, data analysis, and statistics Experience in medical planning, execution, and budget management Exposure to clinical studies, regulatory, and pharmacovigilance (preferred) Background in research, hospital, or pharma industry (advantage) Knowledge of therapeutic area landscape and customer dynamics (rare disease preferred) Strong strategic thinking and ability to communicate complex scientific content Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance environment Fluent Japanese and strong scientific English Willingness to travel; field engagement ~40%
