Scholarship Assistant Full-Time, Houston Texas $24.04 - $26.44 hourly Greater Houston Community Foundation strengthens the Greater Houston community by connecting donors with meaningful opportunities to make a lasting impact through philanthropy, partnerships, and scholarship programs. The Foundation is seeking a detail-oriented, service-minded Scholarships Assistant to support its Scholarships Team.

This role provides customer service to applicants, donors, and other stakeholders while assisting with reporting, scholarship check processing, meetings, and administrative needs. To thrive/succeed as the Scholarship Assistant you should have: Associate’s degree with 2-3 years of experience. Experience handling multiple assignments and prioritizing workload.

Experience planning and supporting meetings. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality about donors and students and general business matters. Ability to always have a positive and professional demeanor, while maintaining quality customer service. Superior interpersonal, written, & oral communication skills; ability to work successfully with a variety of clients.

Excellent organizational skills: ability to plan workflows, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, manage details, problem solve, meet deadlines, and communicate progress regularly to supervisor. Solid computer skills for Microsoft Office suite, database management systems, and willingness to learn customized foundation software.

Experience working with students and parents preferred. Experience working with high-net-worth clients preferred. Spanish language proficiency preferred.

Your responsibilities

Provide frontline customer service to scholarship applicants and parents, including answering phone calls and responding to emails. Assist scholarship applicants by providing troubleshooting support for online applications. Send scholarship application reminders via text and email. Support the Scholarships Team with scholarship application testing.

Participate in the scholarship application review process. Prepare reports on scholarship application metrics. Generate and mail scholarship checks to colleges and universities. Assist with logistics meetings, including scheduling, ordering resources, preparing agenda and informational packets, and taking meeting minutes.

Provide general administrative support to the Scholarships Team. Assist with special projects and events within the Community Foundation as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move files up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 20 pounds occasionally.

Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or reach frequently. Ability to remain in a stationary position 65% of the time. Ability to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. 35% of the time.
