About the role

You will be part of Procurement, Northampton Manufacturing & Service Center USA, Global Support supporting from the Chennai office , who ensure delivery of your Parts is completed on schedule, saves money by actively working to improve delivery times, and reduces the risks associated with delays in the supply chain and dedicated to implementing sustainable solutions for our customers.

The Purchasing Department is responsible for acquiring goods and services essential for operations, ensuring the right products are obtained in the correct quantity, quality, time, and price.

It serves as a vital link between suppliers and internal operations, managing supplier relationships, controlling costs, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. The position reports directly to the Head of Procurement, Chennai. The role is responsible for managing purchasing activities based on specifications and in accordance with predefined procedures and processes to ensure delivery capability.

The incumbent will also handle operational relations and interfaces with selected suppliers to build and maintain close supplier relationships.

Your responsibilities

Request for quote to supplier. Cost analysis & Preparation of bid evaluation sheet. Creation & release of purchase order. Req/PO reconciliation. Ensure receipt of order acknowledgement from supplier. Review changes in engineering release and amend PO and inform appropriately. Preparation of cost tracking report. Updating of PO Status, forecast delivery.

Review of Manufacturing schedule & Progress review with suppliers. Interfacing supplier with engineering, Quality control & Logistics. Build & Maintain supplier relationship. Collaboration with stake holders and draw risk mitigation plan in case of any Potential delay You bring A relevant bachelor’s level qualification, ideally a mechanical engineering degree.

At least 12 to 18 years’ experience in Purchasing, Manufacturing, Production platform. Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and credibility both internally and with external stakeholders with strong customer service skills. Demonstrated knowledge of handling suppliers and how to improve them in terms of faster delivery, Quality standards.

(Improving SIFOT, DIFOT). Ability to work in a team or individually on multiple concurrent projects. Experience using standard MS Office suite of programs is required. Demonstrated ability to deliver in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining high attention to detail. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in order to work with External, Internal stakeholders.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Good organization, multitasking and time management skills that deliver effective planning and housekeeping standards. Experience in dealing with Global supplier & international counterparts will be added advantages Knowledge of any foreign language will be added advantage.

Works towards building and maintaining good relationships with suppliers. Hands-on experience with ERP-systems-Oracle, SAP, D365. Exposure in commercial and financial understanding – desirable Good knowledge of P2P
