About the Role

As a Snow Sports School Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in teaching and inspiring individuals of all ages and skill levels to safely enjoy snow sports such as skiing and snowboarding. Your primary objective is to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that improve participants' techniques, confidence, and overall experience on the snow.

You will assess each student's abilities and tailor your instruction to meet their unique needs, ensuring a supportive and motivating learning environment. Additionally, you will promote safety awareness and proper use of equipment to minimize risks on the slopes. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to fostering a lifelong passion for snow sports among your students while upholding the reputation of the snow sports school.

Minimum Qualifications

Certification from a recognized snow sports instructor organization (e.g., PSIA, BASI, CSIA). Proven experience teaching skiing or snowboarding to diverse age groups and skill levels. Strong knowledge of snow sports techniques, safety standards, and equipment. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students and team members.

Physical fitness and stamina to perform outdoor activities in cold and variable weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional certifications in specialized snow sports disciplines or adaptive instruction. First aid and CPR certification. Multilingual abilities to support a diverse student population. Experience working in a resort or snow sports school environment. Background in coaching or sports education.

Responsibilities

Conduct individual and group lessons in skiing, snowboarding, or other snow sports, adapting teaching methods to suit varying skill levels and ages. Evaluate students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their techniques and confidence. Ensure all lessons are conducted with strict adherence to safety protocols and resort regulations.

Maintain and prepare equipment as needed, and assist students with proper gear fitting and usage. Collaborate with other instructors and school management to develop lesson plans, schedules, and special programs or events. Provide excellent customer service by addressing student inquiries, concerns, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere.

Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and certifications to continuously enhance instructional quality. Skills: The required skills enable you to deliver clear, patient, and motivating instruction tailored to each student's needs, ensuring they progress safely and enjoyably. Your strong communication skills help you build rapport with students and colleagues, facilitating a positive and collaborative environment.

Physical endurance and technical expertise allow you to demonstrate techniques effectively and manage the demands of outdoor instruction in challenging weather.
