Job description

CTG is seeking a Safety Personnel professional to support a major industrial project. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, promoting a strong safety culture, conducting field safety observations, coordinating work permits, and partnering with project teams to proactively identify and mitigate workplace hazards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced safety professional with strong field presence and contractor management experience. Location: Newark, OH Duration: 9 months Pay Range: $45.00 - $55.00/hour Key Responsibilities Perform daily site safety observations and inspections to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors.

Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, project safety requirements, and company safety policies. Coordinate and monitor hot work permits and other permit-to-work activities. Serve as the primary liaison between plant safety personnel and project teams. Review contractor safety plans and verify required training before work begins.

Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs). Investigate incidents and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions. Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings while promoting continuous safety awareness. Monitor PPE compliance and enforce safe work practices. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports and maintain accurate project safety documentation.

Required Qualifications OSHA certifications including OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 standards. 5-10 years of industrial, construction, manufacturing, or capital project safety experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with active field safety oversight and master tag reviews.

Knowledge of work permit coordination, including hot work permitting. Experience performing safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, and contractor safety management. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Safety, or a related discipline. Additional professional safety certifications are a plus. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
