Mud Boy

A mud boy is a crew member who assists the mud engineer or mud specialist. Mixing and preparing drilling fluids,. Checking mud properties such as density and viscosity, Adding chemicals or additives when needed, Maintaining mud pumps, tanks, and related equipment, Helping the mud engineer monitor the drilling process, Keeping the mud system clean and running properly, Reporting any unusual formation changes or possible drilling problems and the current status of the job.

Report to the drilling manager and tool pusher any drilling issues that may negatively affect the continued safe operations of the rig.Equipment Maintenance Perform routine preventive maintenance on all company-owned equipment on job site. Report any non-repairable failure to the appropriate technician to expedite repair or replacement of defective equipment.

Track supply inventory and request any needed supplies from service technician. Maintain cleanliness of mudlogging unit at all times. High School Diploma or Equivalent outstanding candidates with no experience will be considered. � Experience in the field PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to work 12-hour shifts in remote, isolated locations for extended periods of time.
