EMT

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides emergency and basic medical care to patients in a variety of situations. The EMT responds to emergency calls, assesses patients’ conditions, provides appropriate treatment within their scope of practice, and safely transports patients to medical facilities when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency medical calls. Assess patients and provide appropriate basic emergency medical care. Perform CPR, first aid, bleeding control, and other interventions within the EMT’s scope of practice. Monitor and document patients’ vital signs and condition throughout care and transportation.

Safely transport patients to hospitals or other designated healthcare facilities. Communicate effectively with patients, families, dispatchers, healthcare providers, and other emergency personnel. Complete accurate and timely patient care reports and required documentation. Inspect, clean, maintain, and restock the ambulance and medical equipment.

Follow established medical protocols, safety procedures, and organizational policies. Maintain patient confidentiality and provide compassionate and respectful care. Participate in required training, continuing education, and competency assessments. Perform other duties as assigned.
