Student Advocate Job Description Direct Supervisor: Ms. Diana Professional Responsibilities Participate during in-service and workshop programs and attend any required meetings Report to classroom at assigned times. Comply with LCS employee attendance policies according to schedule created by DSS Display efficient time management skills.

Maintain a positive and approachable demeanor. Maintain confidentiality of children and their families. Collaborate with team members and staff. Maintain very good verbal communication with colleagues and families as needed Good written communication for letters and emails as needed Display cultural competency and awareness.

In-classroom Responsibilities Support students who require a dditional prompting to meet classroom expectations. Creating visual supports as needed Providing manipulatives as needed Works closely with teacher to understand how to accommodate the student Establish a trusting relationship with all students, specifically students with behavioral or academic challenges, Maintain open communication with classroom teacher to ensure student success.

Support students' educational programs as outlined in their Individual Educational Plan (IEP), Individual Learning Plan (ILP), and/or Behavior Learning Plan (BLP). Reinforce learning by offering individual tutoring and small groups as determined by the teacher . School wide responsibilities Ensures that all students are following school rules.

Student advocates may redirect and notify a student’s teacher of any issues Participate in school wide events
