You will be responsible for ensuring a safe, supportive, person-centered environment while leading a team, develop staff, and strengthen services, to the people we support within their communities.

Essential responsibilities Manage all aspects of the residential program to ensure the safety, health, well-being, and personal growth of the individuals supported. Ensure services are delivered in accordance with each individual's Individual Service Plan (ISP), support needs, preferences, and personal goals. Develop, maintain, and oversee ISPs and related documentation in accordance with OPWDD regulations and agency standards.

Monitor and support the implementation of Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and recommended strategies. Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and guidance to direct support staff, including Assistant Managers. Oversee staff training, development, scheduling, performance expectations, and compliance with agency policies and procedures.

Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of qualified residential staff. Respond effectively to emergencies, behavioral challenges, medical concerns, and other high-pressure situations using sound judgment and professionalism. Ensure ongoing compliance with OPWDD regulations, agency policies, health and safety requirements, and quality standards.

Participate in internal and external audits and ensure required records and documentation are accurate, complete, and maintained appropriately. Collaborate with families, care managers, clinicians, healthcare providers, and other members of the individual's support team to coordinate services. Maintain regular and professional communication with families and representatives regarding the individuals supported.

Monitor health, fire safety, environmental, and regulatory standards within the residence. Manage residential budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure fiscal procedures and documentation are maintained accurately. Review and approve billing-related documentation and service records. Oversee administrative responsibilities, including payroll, scheduling, attendance, timekeeping, and employee performance evaluations.

Maintain accurate employee and individual records using agency systems and required electronic platforms. Promote a positive, respectful, and person-centered culture within the residence. Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, staff performance, and the overall quality of the residential program. Respond to urgent program needs and provide support outside of regular business hours when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Bachelor’s degree in human services, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Experience supporting individuals with medically complex needs. Knowledge of OPWDD regulations, residential services, and regulatory requirements.

Valid and clean New York State Driver's License. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in challenging situations. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems. Ability to effectively supervise, coach, and develop direct support professionals.

Must possess and maintain a personal cell phone/smartphone for work-related communication as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in IRA or other highly regulated residential setting. Experience with eVero and ADP systems. Previous experience supervising residential programs or direct support teams. Experience developing or implementing Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs). Familiarity with OPWDD quality assurance, incident management, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Experience managing residential budgets, staffing, scheduling, and program operations.
