Claims Recovery Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Claims Recovery Specialist to manage the department’s court portfolio, support the effective handling of litigation matters, and provide guidance to the Claims Recovery team while ensuring timely and appropriate follow-up of legal cases.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the department’s court portfolio and review files referred for litigation. Assist management in evaluating court cases and recommending appropriate actions, including settlement opportunities. Liaise with attorneys, barristers, and other legal representatives on court and litigation matters. Monitor the progress of court cases and ensure timely follow-up on legal proceedings, deadlines, and required actions.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to the Claims Recovery team on litigation-related matters. Review and assess recovery files requiring legal intervention and recommend appropriate courses of action. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of litigation cases and related follow-ups. Prepare periodic reports on litigation cases, recoveries, legal expenses, and court performance.

Ensure effective coordination with internal stakeholders and external legal representatives. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in law and management or an equivalent qualification in a law-related field. At least 2 years’ experience in the legal field or a related sector, preferably within the insurance industry. Good knowledge of legal and court procedures.

Experience in insurance-related legal matters will be an advantage. Strong analytical, organisational, and follow-up skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases efficiently. Valid driving license and access to a personal vehicle.
