Sous Chef (FT) $20-$24/per hour

Cook food people remember — for people who'll remember you. Providence Place Senior Living is hiring a full-time Sous Chef for our Dover campus. This is hands-on, creative, scratch cooking for 150 senior residents who will know your name: home-cooked meals, demonstration cooking, residents' own recipes, cooking classes, local ingredients.

You'll be the Executive Chef's right hand — leading the line, training the team, and stepping up as acting dining director when they're away.

What you'll do

Lead daily preparation of scratch-made meals residents genuinely look forward to Cook with creativity: demo cooking, resident recipe features, cooking classes, seasonal and local ingredients Walk the dining room nearly every meal — our residents are your regulars, not your tickets Run pre-meal huddles and set the standard for sanitation and food quality Help plan special-event menus and bring new menu ideas and recipes to the table Train new cooks and help them grow along the culinary career path Assist the Executive Chef with scheduling, ordering, inventory, hiring, and coaching Step in as acting Director of Dining when the Executive Chef is out Schedule Full-time, 10:30am–7:00pm.

Must be able to work every other weekend and every other holiday. What you bring 2–5 years of culinary experience, including time as a Line Chef or Sous Chef; some kitchen leadership preferred A real passion for great, home-style cooking — and the skills to back it up Serv. Safe certification, or able to earn it within 3 months of starting A teacher's mindset: you enjoy training others and working as part of a leadership team Outstanding customer service and solid communication skills Culinary degree a plus, not required Comfortable on your feet all shift; able to lift up to 40 lbs Pay & benefits $20.
