Seventh Grade Teacher - Math & Intensive Math

Navigator Academy of Leadership (NAL) Location: Valrico Campus Major Function: Bring math to life by creating engaging, meaningful learning experiences that inspire seventh-grade students to grow in confidence and succeed! This position is responsible for delivering engaging math instruction, including targeted intensive math support, to help students strengthen their skills, develop problem-solving abilities, and reach their full academic potential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging math lessons aligned with Florida state standards and curriculum requirements. Provide differentiated instruction and targeted interventions to address diverse student needs and strengthen math skills. Monitor student progress through assessments, analyze data, and adjust instruction to improve achievement.

Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment. Encourage problem-solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and independent learning. Maintain accurate attendance, grades, lesson plans, and other required student records. Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and administration regarding student progress and needs.

Incorporate appropriate instructional technology and support school initiatives, including The Leader in Me . Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and assigned supervisory duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Possession of, or eligibility for, a Florida teaching certificate appropriate for the grade level and subject area. Strong knowledge of mathematics curriculum, instructional strategies, and differentiated learning. Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.

Ability to use student data to guide instruction and support academic growth. Growth mindset and willingness to implement The Leader in Me program. Preferred: Florida certification in Middle Grades Mathematics or a related subject area; experience with math intervention or intensive math instruction.
