Project Manager, PMO (Spanish Latin America) - Public Policy
Job description
The Americas Public Policy team represents the company with governments, policymakers, NGOs, think tanks, nonprofits, and opinion leaders across North and South America. We advocate for the company on high-profile political, legislative, and regulatory issues, and help external audiences understand how our products work and the safeguards behind them.
Policy in the Americas is made at national, state, and local levels at once, which means the same issue can be live in a dozen places on different timelines.
You will take part in some of the most important policy conversations shaping the internet, with direct impact on how users, creators, and communities across the region experience our platforms.
The Program Management Office (PMO) team enables the Americas Public Policy organization to execute its priorities effectively across the region. The team provides strategic project management and operational leadership across complex policy initiatives, research and impact projects, high-profile events and stakeholder engagements, regional planning, budgets and procurement, and cross-functional projects. We are looking for an organized, creative, and highly driven PMO professional to serve as a key partner to our Spanish-Speaking Latin America (SPLA) Public Policy team. In this role, you will bring structure to complex initiatives, coordinate across teams and markets, anticipate needs and potential roadblocks, and help drive projects from planning through execution. You will be expected to work autonomously, manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, and exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential matters.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary PMO partner to the Spanish-Speaking Latin America (SPLA) Public Policy team, providing strategic project management and operational leadership across regional priorities and markets.
- Lead complex and strategic regional projects from planning through execution, including major events, stakeholder convenings, and other priority programs, partnering closely with Public Policy leads and cross-functional teams to address challenges and deliver against regional priorities.
- Build strong relationships across SPLA and develop a deep understanding of regional and market-specific contexts to anticipate needs, connect priorities across markets, and proactively enable the team’s work.
- Manage regional budget, procurement, and vendor processes, including budget tracking and forecasting, purchase orders, contracting, invoicing, and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and applicable regional requirements.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Procurement, Tax, Communications, and other teams to mobilize the resources and expertise required to advance regional Public Policy priorities.
- Partner with regional leadership on annual and quarterly planning, translating priorities into actionable plans, tracking progress, and driving alignment and follow-through across the team.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve regional operations by developing scalable processes, tools, and ways of working that increase efficiency, strengthen execution, and reduce administrative burden for the Public Policy team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Affairs, Government, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in project management, operations, strategy, public policy, government affairs, or a related function, with a track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects from planning through execution, navigate competing priorities, manage risks and dependencies, and drive progress with limited oversight.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across regional teams, cross-functional partners, external organizations, and leadership.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous or fast-moving environments while maintaining a strong focus on execution and outcomes.
- Strong judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive policy matters, external engagements, and confidential information.
- Professional fluency in Spanish and English.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience working in Public Policy, Government Relations, Public Affairs, or a related function within the technology sector or another industry operating in a complex regulatory and public policy environment.
- Experience supporting teams or projects across multiple Latin American markets, with a strong understanding of the region’s political, policy, regulatory, and business environment.
- Experience managing high-profile events, stakeholder engagements, research initiatives, or other complex programs involving multiple internal and external partners.
- Experience managing budgets, procurement, contracting, and vendor relationships within a large or global organization.
- Demonstrated ability to improve operating processes, identify opportunities for greater efficiency, and implement scalable ways of working.
