Safety & Compliance Officer

Our client, part of a wider international aviation group operating in Malta, is currently looking for a Safety & Compliance Officer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity if you want broad, hands-on exposure to aviation safety and compliance, from manuals and audits to flight data monitoring, within a lean operation backed by a larger group.

This is a full-time, office-based role offering a salary of up to €50K . Please note that only candidates already based in Malta will be considered. Role & Responsibilities Assist in the drafting, reviewing and maintenance of the Safety Management Manual (SMM) and Compliance Monitoring Manual (CMM), making sure they reflect current regulation and how the operation actually runs Coordinate safety and compliance activity across the group’s approvals (FBO, AOC and the emerging Part-145) and international line stations, working with both in-house and subcontracted teams Guide nominated persons in each department on documentation, procedure writing and compliance, keeping the manual suite consistent Assist in the running of the Compliance Monitoring Programme, from planning audits to tracking findings and corrective actions through to close-out Support the Safety Management System: log occurrence and hazard reports, maintain risk assessment records and put together Safety Review Board packs Take charge of the Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) programme, tightening it up and building safety trend monitoring that turns operational data into insights for the SMS Assist in preparing documentation for CAD audits, approvals and amendments Track EASA and Malta CAD regulatory changes and highlight how they affect procedures Education, Skills & Experience Background in aviation safety, quality, compliance or operations, ideally within an AOC, CAMO, Part-145 or ATO Working knowledge of the EASA framework (Part-ORO and Part-CAT and/or Part-NCC) Genuine ability and appetite for writing and structuring aviation manuals and procedures Pragmatic and commercially aware, understanding that a sound safety and compliance function exists to support a viable operation Comfortable working efficiently within a lean, group-backed structure SMS and internal/lead auditor training Exposure to ground handling/FBO and/or Part-145 maintenance environments, and to managing FDM programmes Familiarity with Malta CAD processes Fluent in English both written and spoken About the Role Salary up to €50K Full-time, office-based Health insurance after one year of employment Claudigo Fruits and daily lunch in the office Excellent career growth prospects: you’ll start by supporting the existing structure, with the opportunity to take the lead on safety and compliance across the FBO, AOC and Part-145, coordinating in-house and subcontracted staff and the international line stations, as you establish yourself Kindly apply with your detailed CV in English.
