Employment Counselor

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides various vocational services for the purpose of enhancing the employability of individuals with mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders whose ultimate goal is to enhance his/her recovery through competitive employment in community work settings; provides job development services; provides ongoing support to individuals who are actively seeking employment or have been hired in the community; assists individuals in pursuing education and training; and coordinates assessment and work adjustment activities with the Department of Rehabilitative Services; develops opportunities for supported employment and/or volunteer work.

Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice, sociology, vocational rehabilitation, counseling, or other approved Human Services degree OR Certified psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner in Virginia M2: One year of clinical experience within the past seven years providing mental health services M3: Must meet Medicaid requirements for Qualified Mental Health Provider M4: Valid drivers license and safe driving record Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request.
