• 1 years+ of pastry experience in a restaurant, hotel or related field
• Hospitality/Tourism Pastry Finishing/Baking Cook experience preferred Description of Responsibilities Grand Hyatt at Baha Mar’s Pastry Cook – The Market will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, cooking, and presentation of desserts, pastries, and confections to ensure guests’ expectations for their hotel dining experiences are exceeded.

Responsibilities

• Utilize dynamic pastry skills to ensure guests are “wowed” by Grand Hyatt at Baha Mar’s delicious food
• Ensure all aspects of pastry preparation, cooking and presenting of dishes adhere to guidelines/customer preferences
• Liaise with kitchen staff and management regarding customers’ orders and general service of kitchen operations
• Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment to include proper storage of pastries, equipment, utensils and implements etc.
• Prepare and cook extraordinary pastry dishes in adherence with standardized recipes
• Develop new pastry dishes and dessert menus
• Exemplify high standards of food hygiene and follow established health and safety regulations
• Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
• Know product availability, preparation, nutritional and storage aspects
• Ensure that baked menu mix meets varied guests’ dietary needs and requests
• Proactively support all hotel restaurant tactics always adhering to company policies
• Document waste and spoilage
• Immediately report any security, maintenance, housekeeping issues to management
• Suggest new techniques of service for maximum guest satisfaction at minimum operating costs
• Total compliance with Grand Hyatt Baha Mar’s standards of operation
• Stay current on hospitality best practices and industry trends
• Perform other duties as assigned
