Job description
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing complex projects or programs. They oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle, from planning and execution to monitoring and closing. This role often involves managing a project team and coordinating with multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a strategic partner to leaders of local cross-functional project teams as well as global program managers in executing program strategies. Drive the development and execution of high-quality, integrated cross-functional project plans in support of overall program strategy. Lead or participate in special department, cross-functional, or team projects to maximize portfolio value by aligning local strategy with global objectives.
Build and execute cross-functional local program strategy, including translation and integration of global strategy components into local plans. Guide flexible strategies and resource allocation to improve outcomes and ensure rigor in cross-functional decision making. Develop and ensure communication of program information to local and global stakeholders.
Drive scenario and trade-off analysis, including risks and impact at local and global project levels. Oversee execution of regulatory submissions and key interactions with local authorities. Facilitate and manage cross-functional project meetings, including setting agendas, creating minutes, and maintaining decision logs.
Ensure adherence to governance processes. Advise cross-functional teams on communication of key program information.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or relevant field (advanced degree such as MSc/PhD/MBA preferred). Drug development experience, including deep experience in one or more core drug development and commercialization functions and experience leading teams through governance processes. Strong program and project management skills, with experience operationalizing strategic initiatives, strategic planning, and integrated plan development.
Emotional intelligence skills, including influencing without authority and navigating a matrix environment.
