Director of Nursing (DON) The Villas | Sherman, Illinois Salary: $100,000–$120,000 annually Full-Time | Skilled Nursing Facility Lead with Purpose. Make a Difference Every Day. The Villas is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and motivated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team and oversee the delivery of high-quality resident care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a nursing leader who is passionate about clinical excellence, staff development, regulatory compliance, and creating a positive environment for residents and employees. As the Director of Nursing, you will play a key role in the overall success of our 109-bed skilled nursing facility.

You will partner with facility leadership and the interdisciplinary team to promote resident safety, strengthen clinical outcomes, support staff, and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.

What You'll Do

Oversee daily nursing operations, provide clinical leadership, and promote consistent, high-quality resident care. Develop and Support Your Team: Recruit, hire, train, coach, and mentor nursing staff while promoting accountability, teamwork, and professional growth. Oversee Clinical Quality: Monitor resident care, clinical documentation, infection prevention, medication practices, and quality improvement initiatives.

Maintain Regulatory Compliance: Ensure nursing practices meet applicable federal and Illinois regulations, licensing requirements, and facility policies. Prepare for Surveys: Lead survey readiness efforts, respond to deficiencies, and develop and implement corrective action plans when needed. Manage Staffing: Oversee nursing schedules, staffing levels, attendance, and productivity to support safe and effective resident care.

Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with the Administrator, Medical Director, therapy, social services, and other department leaders to coordinate resident care. Communicate with Residents and Families: Address concerns professionally and help ensure residents are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

Drive Continuous Improvement: Review clinical indicators, investigate concerns, and implement strategies to improve resident outcomes and the overall quality of care.

What We're Looking For

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois, in good standing. Previous nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting; DON or Assistant Director of Nursing experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of skilled nursing regulations, clinical standards, infection prevention, and survey preparation.

Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and hold nursing staff accountable. Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
