Job description

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all HR functions within the organization, ensuring effective workforce management across store operations. This role focuses on recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and organizational development to support business growth in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Recruitment & Staffing Lead end-to-end recruitment for store and head office roles (e.g., cashiers, store supervisors, warehouse staff) Develop manpower plans based on store expansion and operational needs Coordinate with hiring managers to ensure timely deployment of employees
  2. Employee Relations Address employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary cases Promote a positive work environment and strong company culture Conduct employee engagement activities and retention programs
  3. Performance Management Implement performance appraisal systems for store personnel Monitor employee productivity, attendance, and overall performance Coach and guide managers on handling performance issues
  4. Training & Development Identify training needs and implement learning programs (e.g., customer service, product handling, compliance) Oversee onboarding and orientation of new hires Support leadership development for store supervisors and managers 5.

Compensation

& Benefits Ensure proper implementation of payroll, benefits, and incentives Benchmark compensation to remain competitive within the retail industry Manage government-mandated benefits and compliance 6. HR Operations & Compliance Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and DOLE regulations Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation Develop and update HR policies aligned with business needs 7. Strategic HR Support Partner with management in organizational planning and store expansion Analyze HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, hiring timelines) Recommend HR strategies to improve efficiency and employee retention Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field At least 5–8 years of HR experience, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role Experience in retail, food service, FMCG, or convenience store operations is highly preferred Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to handle multi-branch/store operations
