As Commis Chef, you’re at the very heart of the kitchen – where your energy, focus, and hunger to learn keep everything moving. You’re not just assisting behind the scenes – you’re laying the foundations for every great service. From prepping fresh ingredients to supporting on the pass during the rush, you bring passion, precision, and pride to everything you do.

You’ll play a central role in supporting the kitchen team across prep and service for all our food and beverage outlets – helping to create fantastic guest experiences from the ground up. Whether you’re dicing, plating, or restocking, your consistency and care make you an essential part of the brigade. The hotel is currently operating under an exclusive use agreement with the Government therefore the operations may be slightly different to that of a typical hotel.

Our team are the heart and soul of all we do. Here’s what you’ll be up to: Supporting the kitchen team with food preparation and service across the operation, helping to deliver good-quality meals consistently and efficiently. Learning the ropes across different sections – from larder to hot pass – with full guidance, training and support from the kitchen team.

Helping to keep the kitchen well-stocked, organised and running smoothly, including supporting with deliveries, stock rotation and restocking. Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety at all times. Taking pride in every task, however big or small – knowing that great service starts with getting the basics right.

Being a flexible team player and supporting across the wider operation when required, including Guest Service Assistant duties such as serving food, receiving deliveries and helping to keep guest and service areas clean and well presented. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the operation to make sure everything runs smoothly and our guests receive a consistent, professional service.
