Federal Work Study Student Part Time - Excercise Science

Sussex County Community College is seeking students for positions associated with the Federal Work Study Program. To be considered for this position, you must be a current SCCC student who has completed the FAFSA and been awarded Federal Work-Study funds. Federal Work-Study is a need-based program, and eligibility is determined by financial need, enrollment status (at least half-time), and maintaining satisfactory academic progress.

Excercise Science SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Calling local fitness facilities to establish partnerships for student internships. Conducting Human Performance Lab inventory each semester. Maintaining and cleaning the Exercise Science equipment. Researching new Exercise Science trends and presenting them to the department supervisor.

Assisting with the revisal of lab safety documentation. Assisting with the revisal of class lectures. Assisting with department marketing strategies. Running monthly tutoring sessions for Exercise Science students. Supervision of Fitness Center Office hours Monday – Friday (some Saturdays) 8:00am - 5:00pm 10 hours per week (flexible based on class schedule) ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Candidate must be organized, self-motivated, and a strong communicator.

Have superior time managements skills and the ability to consistently meet assignment deadlines. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to research professional and academic materials on a computer. Ability to supervise and enforce rules of the fitness center and Exercise Science Lab.
