Junior Sous Chef

Junior Sous Chef – George, Western Cape Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join a luxury golf resort in George, Western Cape. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to support the kitchen team, contribute to exceptional dining experiences and further develop their skills within a premium hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef with the daily running of the kitchen. Supervise and support junior kitchen staff to ensure efficient service. Prepare and present high-quality dishes in line with the resort's culinary standards. Assist with menu planning, food preparation and special dining requirements. Maintain excellent food quality, consistency and presentation.

Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and health regulations. Monitor stock levels, minimise wastage and assist with stock control. Support staff training and maintain a positive, professional kitchen environment. Ensure the kitchen remains clean, organised and fully operational.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef or in a senior Chef de Partie position within a quality hotel, resort or restaurant. A relevant culinary qualification would be advantageous. Strong cooking skills and a sound understanding of kitchen operations. Excellent leadership, communication and organisational abilities.

A strong focus on food quality, consistency and presentation. The ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen. Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards. A professional attitude, attention to detail and passion for the culinary industry. Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience.
