Job description

Adelphi is seeking a dentist to provide dental care for youth detained in a secured facilities in the Columbia, SC area. The dentist will work with youth between the ages of twelve (12) to twenty-one (21)to provide direct patient care for approximately 24-40 hours weekly Mon-Fri.   • Licensed to practice dentistry in the state of South Carolina.
  • Completion of required residency.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct dental examinations to assess patient health.
  • Deliver appropriate dental treatments to institutionalized patients.
  • Formulate independent diagnoses and professional treatment plans.
  • Review and update dental policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in staff and medical department meetings.
  • Serve as a consultant to health units and other medical services.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Supervise and train dental assistants and dental hygienists.
  • Oversee and mentor dental residents in training.
  • Plan and conduct dental health education programs.
  • Prepare and deliver lectures to professional and community groups.
