Responsibilities

Teach two lecture course sections on genetics for health professions and one laboratory course on human biology Qualifications: Masters level or higher in the field of field of biology, genetics or career equivalent Employed on a per-load-unit basis for a given semester or term. Sole contracted responsibilities are those activities required in the delivery of a course (e.

g., mentoring/coaching, preparation, teaching, grading, office hours). In some instances, there may be some contracted responsibilities for advising, course development or meeting other departmental needs. The Department of Biological Sciences offers a choice of majors and concentrations that seek to provide students with an understanding of the sciences that enables them to pursue a range of post-graduate options, including graduate school, medical school, the allied health field, or immediately seek employment in a variety of settings in industry, business, education and government.

The Department of Biological Sciences is committed to academic excellence within the context of a vibrant Christian faith. Teach undergraduate classes on an as-needed basis. Create and maintain a course page in Canvas LMS structure; design and grade assessments of student learning; respond to students in a timely manner via weekly office hours and/or email.

Courses typically meet face to face for 2.5-hours/week for 15 weeks either in three 50-minute lectures (MWF) or two 75-minute lectures. Scheduling may be adjustable, but typically occurs between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Responsibilities

specific to the class or lab taught will be communicated on an individual basis. Advanced degree or significant experience in the area relevant for the course that will be taught. Candidates must evidence the potential for strong classroom teaching and positive student interaction and mentorship.
