3. Community Systems Strengthening Officer (CSSO)

Summary: The Community Systems Strengthening Officer is a pivotal role focused on enhancing the ability of community structures, networks, and local partners to deliver sustainable health and social services. This position drives community empowerment by building local capacity, fostering collaboration, and ensuring alignment with national policies and donor standards.

Through strategic training, mentorship, and systems strengthening, the officer enables communities to take ownership of health and development initiatives, contributing to long-term impact and resilience.

Responsibilities

Support the establishment and strengthening of community groups, committees, and networks Deliver capacity-building initiatives through training, mentorship, and supportive supervision Enhance referral and feedback mechanisms between community and facility-based health services Facilitate community-led monitoring and advocacy efforts to promote accountability and service quality Monitor and track community-level health indicators and contribute to donor reporting requirements Ensure all community interventions are aligned with national guidelines and donor compliance standards Promote coordinated action among stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and implementing partners
