Experienced Occupational Therapist

3 Months Contract with a Local Authority Umbrella - £35.00 per hour

• Umbrella Job Purpose As an Experienced Occupational Therapist , you will work within the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) Team , undertaking complex assessments and delivering specialist Occupational Therapy interventions to support adults to remain independent and safe within their own homes. Key Duties/Accountabilities
• Assess adults with complex Occupational Therapy needs.
• Undertake functional assessments within home and community settings.
• Complete Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) recommendations.
• Assess eligibility for major and minor adaptations.
• Produce detailed adaptation specifications and recommendations.
• Assess and recommend specialist equipment.
• Undertake moving and handling assessments.
• Recommend appropriate seating and postural management solutions.
• Work closely with residents, contractors and partner agencies.
• Monitor the progress of adaptation works.
• Support the reduction of waiting lists within the DFG service.
• Promote independence and reduce reliance on long-term care services. Essential Experience Required
• HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist.
• Significant Occupational Therapy experience within Adult Services.
• Experience working within a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) team.
• Experience conducting functional assessments.
• Experience recommending major and minor housing adaptations.
• Experience producing detailed adaptation specifications.
• Experience assessing and prescribing specialist equipment.
• Experience undertaking moving and handling assessments.
• Strong knowledge of Occupational Therapy practice within housing adaptations.
• Experience working collaboratively with contractors, surveyors and housing teams. Additional Information to Note
• Working Hours: 37 hours per week.
• Monday to Friday.
• 09:00 - 17:30.
• The Civic, 1 Saxon Gate East, Milton Keynes, MK9 3EJ.
• Hybrid Working.
• 2 Days Home Working.
• 3 Days Office / Community Based.
• Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) Team.
• Enhanced DBS Required.
• HCPC Registration Required.
• Proof of Qualifications Required.
• No DVLA Check Required.
