Accounts Executive (recruiting from Malta only)

Our Client, one of Malta's leading providers of professional business and corporate services, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Executive to join its growing Client Accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional to manage a diverse portfolio of clients while working alongside experienced industry specialists in a supportive and professional environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining strong client relationships, preparing management accounts and VAT returns, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting tax-related matters while contributing to the delivery of high-quality client services.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of management accounts. Prepare and submit VAT returns while ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Liaise with internal departments to obtain financial information required for statutory reporting and financial statements.

Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders as required. Support the preparation of tax computations, tax returns, tax refunds, and other tax-related matters. Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering professional, responsive, and high-quality accounting services.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years' experience in client accounting or a similar accounting role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, VAT procedures, and statutory compliance requirements. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and competing deadlines.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and accounting software, including Sage Line 50 or similar ERP systems. A proactive team player with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently when required. Licenses & Qualifications Partly qualified Accountant with a Degree in Accountancy or currently in the final stages of the ACCA qualification.

Professional accounting qualification or progression towards one will be considered an asset. Previous experience within client accounting, corporate services, or financial services will be considered advantageous.
